Accutane; good or bad?

I'm 16 and I've been suffering from moderate acne since 5th grade. The dermatologist I see has put me on doxycylcine, doryx, epiduo, benzaclin, retinae, and several other medications and nothing has seemed to help. Recently, she wondered if I was interested in Accutane, and because of it's bad rep, I wasn't that interested. But as my acne seems to not be getting better, I'm becoming more and more interested. The only thing I'm reluctant about is that I'm a competitive dancer, and I heard it can do negative things to your joints and cause blood blisters, etc. Also, I'm a readhead, and I've hear that common myth that they're more prone to it than others, but I don't know how true that is. Do the pros outweigh the cons? Anyone with Accutane experience? Any advice would be great, thanks!
