Is it inappropriate to serve alcohol at a 1 year's birthday party?

My son is going to be one years old soon and we're planning a bday party. Obviously 1 year olds don't have friends at the that age so it's not like there is going tons of activities for the little one's. I'm not going to have a keg or anything like a frat party, but some drinks for the adults, beer, wine, etc. What do you think?
