Uninsured driver hit me?

I was hit by a uninsured driver I live in California. The damages cost 2000 dollars but the driver denies hitting me and in fact I was confused at the time of the incident who hit me bc there was about 10 different cars in the same accident I asked the driver of the car behind me did they hit me they replied no I walked away 15 minutes later they drove off I got there lic. Plate number and gave it to my insurance I thought I got the description of there car right but later found out I got the color and make wrong but I got the lic plate number? I'm sure this is the car but I have no further proof. Will this hold up in court damages where 2000 dollars.. will my insurance try to take this to court or will it just be chucked as a lost they are still denying it and basing it on the fact that I got the color of there car wrong and make and have no proof? Plz help
