Is Hollywood Out Of Ideas?

It's not so much that they are out of ideas, they just know what makes them money. In hollywood why take a chance on a cleverly written script from some nobody when you can get Johnny Depp to play a Vampire and you have a huge blockbuster regardless of the plot of the actual movie. All hollywood does is make what is making money. The wachowski brothers have a script that is considered one of the greatest scripts never to be made into a movie. 500 Days of Summer was really a great film that came out a little while ago. With scripts like that you know it will have a limited release and not make much even though the material and acting is brilliant. It is cheaper to make a remake of a movie or show than to start something new and until people stop seeing garbage like Date movie and Paranormal Activity those kind of movies will continue to rule hollywood.
