Was Kofi Kingston Feud with Randy Orton for nothing?

That feud looked like the introduction to the Main Event for Kofi but next thing you know, Orton burried Kofi 3 times in a row then Kingston was M.I.A. Kofi pinned RKO (and CM Punk) at Survivor series in the team Orton vs team Kingston match to become Sole survivor. Not to mention The BOOM BOOM drop at MSG. Oh yeah, the Nascar incident, Kofi seemed "there". But the WWE went with Sheamus and Jack Swagger over Kofi. Jack Swagger never had a main event feud. Sheamus has never been a Mid-Carder and is still new to the buisness. Kofi is a former Intercontinetal champ, U.S. champ, and Tag team champ. Im starting to think the WWE gave up on him seeing how he didn't win MITB and is now a SUPERSTARS(the show for mid-carders) regular. LET KOFI SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
