Please help. I need some advice!?

I have had irregular periods. I will have a period, then 2-3 days after the time that I supposedly ovulate (I've used OPK some months +, others - results) , I will start spotting up until my period starts again. My hubby and I are ttc.(I had a miscarriage in January) I went to my ob with concerns. She did bloodwork to test my progesterone and thyroid levels, and wrote a prescription for clomid. I had the prescription filled. They called with the results and said all my levels looked good and there was no need to take the clomid, but I could if I wanted to. I am sooooo confused!!! Why are my periods so irregular if there isn't a problem with my hormones? Is there anyone else like me out there? Should I take the clomid or not? Please help!!!
