How can a parent believe this is in the best interest of the child?

I think the reason government has had to become big again is that we couldn't, as a society, govern ourselves. This should be treated as a common sense issue. A 90% chance of survival with chemo vs. death without. To me, withholding the chemo constitutes as child-abuse. If he were terminally ill, no chance of survival and his doctors wanted chemo to prolong his life as long as possible, then I would side with the parents-no chemo. It would be in the best interest of the child. Daniel doesn't want treatment, because it is what has been brainwashed into him. His parents are religious fanatics who I'm sure love their son, but they are harming him. I hope mom and son are found soon.
