Caring for Dementia patient?

In a few weeks I will be caring for my neighbors mother while they are out of town for a week. She has dementia and is probably in her 70' s or 80's and does NOT speak at all. She does understand english and what I will be telling her to do though but does not respond vocally. I've have done some basic research about dementia but does anyone have suggestions for me while I will be caring for her throughout the week???
